Deliberations concerning constructing a Catholic School in Tecumseh began in 1957 when Msgr. Wagner was pastor.  Fr. James Halligan continued the drive for funds in 1959.  On August 16, 1963, St. Andrew;s School was blessed by Bishop James Casey.  The Felician sisters of Polonia, WI agreed to staff the new school.   Sister Gertrudis Bielamowicz and Sister Juliana Malczewski began classes in the new school on September 3, 1963 with 42 students, grades 1-6.  At first the Sisters commuted from the convent at Saint Mary until the convent at St. Andrew was completed in 1966.  Each year the enrollment increased and by the 5th  year it had doubled.  Saint Mary School in St. Mary consolidated with Saint Andrew in 1967.   In the late 1970;s and 89;s a bus was coming from St. Anthony in Steinauer transporting students  to St. Andrew School.  In addition to the Felician Sisters,  the Marian Sisters of Waverly, NE and the Benedictine Sisters of Atchison, KS served and staffed the school.
