Mrs. Mercure attended Doane College and graduated from Peru State College with a two degrees;  a major in Social Sciences Secondary Education and Elementary Education.  She taught 7th and 8th grade at St. Andrew Catholic School upon her graduation and then taught 8th grade for 21 years for Lincoln Public Schools.  Upon her retirement she returned to St. Andrew and serves as Head Teacher.  During her many years of teaching she led over 25 trips to Washington, D.C. with 8th grade students;  6 trips leading students from  Lux Middle School to their sister school in Chiba, Japan and 16 trips to countries all over the world with the People to People Student Ambassador Program.  Mrs. Mercure is married and has 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren.   They have hosted two exchange students from Austria as well.   Mrs. Mercure loves traveling and has visited Ireland 12 times as well as  Mexico, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales, Scotland, Germany, France, Italy, Monaco, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Malta,  and the Vatican State.  She also loves going "junking" and collecting antiques.

 

 

Mrs. Stutheit is the Pre-K teacher and this is her seventh year of teaching.  She also did substitute teaching in surrounding schools while spending time at home with her 4 daughters.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education degree from Wayne State College in 2004.  She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Peru State College in 2008.  She and her husband Josh live outside of Johnson, Nebraska with their four daughters; Josie, Lauren, Livia, and Zelie.  They enjoy spending time together with family and play sports. 

Mrs. Farr completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a Teaching Certificate from the College of Saint Mary with endorsements in the following areas: Early Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, and Middle School English and Social Science.  She loves working with children due to their great yearning of imagination and curiosity to learn new  things.  This passion gives her the motivation to set new goals, and to work together as a partnership with students and families to achieve new and rewarding experiences as they grow together.  She has taught preschool Head Start in Council Bluffs, Iowa; Special Education at Papillion LaVista and elementary grades at Ralston and Westside Community School Districts.  She is thrilled and blessed to have the opportunity to be the K-2 teacher at St. Andrew helping her students succeed throughout the curriculum while building a strong foundation and relationship with Christ.  She loves spending time with her family.  She and her husband Wade have raised our four children and are now raising their grandson, Matthew.  They currently live in Brock, Nebraska.  When they are not enjoying the country life here, they enjoy spending time with their daughter, sons and spoiling their other grandchildren.

 

Miss Brase attended Hastings College where she majored in Elementary Education.  This is her 16th year of teaching (4th at St. Andrew’s). Prior to being in Tecumseh, Elizabeth taught in Bellevue and Omaha.  At St. Andrew’s, Miss Brase teaches 3rd-6th grades and all grades for Music Class.  “My favorite thing about teaching is being creative,” says Miss B.  “I think St. Andrew’s is special because I can individualize each students’ instruction here.”

Maria Martinez started working at St. Andrew School as a paraeducator in August 2023. “I feel very blessed to be working with children,” says Maria. “Previously, I never thought about working with children, but I have discovered that God has a purpose for me in this work. I have learned a lot from the children. Every child is unique and has their own personality.” Outside of school, Maria likes to cook, listen to music, and spend time with her family. Maria is married and has 2 children.

Rachel started working at St. Andrew School in January, 2023 in the office as the Administrative Secretary.  She attended St. Mary Parochial School (K-7) and graduated from Sterling Public High School.  She retired from the State of Nebraska in July, 2021 after 47 years of service.  She enjoys gardening, garage sales, watching game shows.  She lives outside of St. Mary on the family farm and has a small flock of chickens and guineas.
